Before all eyes turn to the big game, Lake Shore Public Schools has major news that's a game-changer for the future of Shorian football.

With the first overall draft pick, LSPS proudly welcomes Tony Savage as the new Head Football Coach at Lake Shore High School.

Coach Savage was drawn to Lake Shore's strong sense of pride, deep football tradition, and unmatched community support. From packed neighborhoods on game nights to alumni representing the "LS" across the state, he sees Lake Shore as a true football town—and one he's ready to lead with passion and purpose. His vision: a program the city can be proud of and players who graduate carrying that pride with them for life.

Background & Experience
Coach Savage grew up in a football family and began playing at a young age, continuing through high school at Warren Cousino and into college at Western Michigan University. His athletic background also includes semi-pro football and professional MMA competition.
His coaching résumé spans youth football through high school, highlighted by rebuilding programs, ending long losing streaks, multiple postseason appearances, and leading the Berkley Steelers varsity team to an undefeated 11–0 season and OMYFA Championship in 2025.

Vision & Goals
Coach Savage's focus begins in the classroom, believing academic success fuels success on the field. His mission is to change the culture, restore a winning mindset, hold players accountable, and develop strong young adults. The ultimate goal: bringing a state championship to Lake Shore High School.

Family is at the heart of everything Coach Savage does. A proud parent, lifelong Detroit Lions fan, and fitness professional with over 20 years of experience in strength and conditioning, he brings energy, discipline, and heart to everything he does.
