Football Spotlight: Aiden "Phoenix" Hervey
Aiden "Phoenix" Hervey lives up to his name—you'll either find him blending in with anyone or standing out in a big way.
Football has had his attention since 2nd grade, when he started in a youth program at just 8 years old. What keeps him hooked? The physicality, the intensity, and the grind. From the moment he stepped into high school, he was all in—earning a spot on varsity as a freshman and setting his sights on playing at the college level.
Phoenix thrives on competition. Whether he's at running back or linebacker, he brings energy every play and isn't afraid of contact—in fact, he embraces it. His biggest inspiration comes from his dad, Tony Hervey, a professional MMA fighter, who helps push him in the weight room and beyond. With a max bench of 330 and a 435 deadlift, the work is showing.
One of his most memorable moments came junior year against Cousino—2 touchdowns and 3 tackles for loss in a dominant performance.
He wears #33, a number he picked up in 7th grade that represents strength and high standards. And while he doesn't point to one specific athlete he admires, he's motivated by being his own person and surrounding himself with strong, driven people—like his friends Efrom and Braylon, who he says are incredible workers.
His mindset is simple: focus on yourself, block out the noise, and live life to the fullest. No holding back.
One word to describe Phoenix? Determined.
Dedicated. Driven. Always looking for the next move.
