Friday Night Lights

Our Varsity Football team upset Sault St Marie at the home opener 20-18. WR/DB Ja'Sean Dean's 4 receptions, 2 touchdowns, and 151 receiving yards helped secure the victory.

Known for his athleticism, Ja'Sean is hungry for a winning season.

When did you begin playing football? What are your plans after high school?
Ja'Sean was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Saint Clair Shores during his freshman year. As a young child, he played football alongside his family in the backyard and began playing in a Youth Football League at 5. Over time, he developed a passion for the sport and hopes to sign a letter of intent to play as a D2 athlete. His favorite memory is scoring a 99-yard touchdown during his sophomore year at the Homecoming game.

Why #0?
He changed his number from #6, the day his Granny Ella passed away, to #0 for his Senior year to be different.

Name a coach or player who inspires you.
Lake Shore's Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Coach Mike, has motivated Ja'Sean to be the best man he can be. He has taught him the difference between right and wrong and consistently offers checkins to ensure he is happy and healthy.

Who are you? Why is it a good day to be a Shorian?
Ja'Sean is self-described as a caring, respectful kid who loves to travel and play sports. He trusts his Quarterback and hopes to win the MAC Gold Championship and move on to make playoffs. Of course, beating Lakeview is a bonus! Coach Rogers puts us in the right positions to get the job done. He has immense respect for all of his coaches. He believes in the power of our Shorian Family and when the opportunity knocked to leave Lake Shore for another district, he refused. The bonds that he's built at Lake Shore are strong and family is everything.

Anything else?
His mom Ashley wanted him to quit the sport after he had 2 concussions during his Junior year, but she continued to support his decision to play during this breakout year. He had a total of 1,000 years and 18 receptions and is expecting to beat those numbers this year.
