Varsity Girl's Swimming

Strength in the Pool, Purpose Beyond

Liz Adams' journey in athletics began early — with swim lessons at just five years old and Goldfish ribbons to show for it. She swam with The Lakers for a few seasons before stepping away from the sport… but that break wouldn't last forever.

Fast forward to freshman year: Liz joined the swim team a month into the season, and by day two, she was already competing in her first meet — and crushed it. From that moment on, swimming became part of her rhythm. She balanced practices with cheerleading, pushing herself both in and out of the pool.

This year, Liz leveled up again — juggling drumline and swim, managing long rehearsals and late meets with serious dedication.

Her focus last season? The 100 breaststroke and 50 free — with one of her proudest moments coming at a home meet where she just barely beat a tough competitor from Romeo, snagging a personal best she won't forget.

When asked to describe herself in one word, Liz chose "inspiration." Not because she needs the spotlight — but because she leads by example. A role model for the younger swimmers, she's proud to be someone they can look up to. And as one of the top athletes on the team, she's quick to credit her teammates:
? "Everyone is so welcoming."

She shares a special bond with Brooke Lowry, a teammate from their Sea Serpents days at the SCS pool — where Brooke was the only Lake Shore swimmer at the time. That connection still means a lot.

Known for her technique — especially in the 200 IM — Liz has made serious strides over the last few years. Even in diving, where she admits she used to belly flop at 8 or 9 years old, she's improved big time. It's all thanks to hard work, consistency, and teammates who push her through those "just one more rep" moments.

What's next for Liz? She's fearless. Whether it's the military, firefighting, or law enforcement, she's chasing purpose — with zero fear and full heart.

She's built strength in the pool… and even more outside of it.
