Shorian Soccer Rebuilds While Friendships Remain

Soccer is defined as a game played on a field between two teams of 11 players each with the object to propel a round ball into the opponent's goal by kicking or by hitting it with any part of the body except the hands and arms. It is a game with fluid play and requires a whole lot of athleticism.

We watched a recent game against our city rival Lakeview where aggressiveness, running, and a competitive drive took place on the field. Our boys showed off their fundamental skills of passing, receiving, shooting, dribbling, and goalkeeping, but it wasn't enough to stop the Huskies; The final score was 0-5.

Moms and fans Jennifer Best and Nicole Huffman were proud to be spectators in the stands. Their sons Carsen Best and Miles Huffman had been playing soccer for over 11 years where it all began in AYSO. Now both parents and teammates are friends and support each other on and off the field. Jennifer described Carsen as "a kind soul, a good kid, and very thoughtful." Nicole said, "Miles is supportive, determined, and always looking to better himself and others." Those key attributes are important parts of living a Shorian lifestyle which puts health, self-esteem, and friendships first.

Soccer has formed a JV team for the first time in 2 years and we are proud to see the elevated interest from players in this beloved sport.
