Izzi's been playing since 3rd grade with church leagues at Margaret, and things really clicked her freshman year when she made varsity. At KMS, she was known for putting in extra reps—and that work ethic shows.
"I love the effort and energy in this sport. We lift each other up and keep good energy."
Wearing #11 is special—her birthday is 11/11—and she's had that number her whole life. As a shooting guard and point guard, Izzi takes pride in controlling the floor, making quick moves, and being a leader.
Inspired by Kobe Bryant, she shares his hard-work mentality. "That's me," she says confidently.
Izzi credits her parents, Jim and Melissa, for always being in her corner—her dad understanding her emotions, her mom always putting her first. Off the court, Izzy's known for her humor and for supporting teammates when they need it most.
Future goal? Med school—to become a pediatrician. Her motto: Play in practice like it's a game, stay serious when it counts, and keep a winning mindset.
Mom Melissa said, "Izzi is a determined young lady who never lets obstacles stand in her way. Once she sets her mind to something, she's all in. Her dream is to become a pediatrician, following my footsteps in the medical field."
Favorite moment? Hitting a deep 3 buzzer-beater vs. Lamphere her freshman year.
From not making the team in 7th grade at Kennedy Middle School to becoming a versatile player who can run point, play forward, or step in as shooting guard, Daja has turned perseverance into power on the court.
She grew up playing in boys' rec leagues in St. Clair Shores, joined the all-girls Greg Grant league, and competed with the Michigan Tar Heels. Along the way, she found inspiration from her cousin, Yomyris Morris, who once played at Texas Christian University and now competes professionally in Paris. Daja honors her by wearing her same #5 on the court.

Strengths: Defense, energy, and hyping up her teammates

Focus: Improving her shot and left hand

Favorite: Driving for layups and making smart decisions with the ball
Outside of basketball, Daja is family-focused—whether bragging about her mom Charisse who cheers in the stands, spending time with her two sisters or coaching her 4-year-old little brother. She also finds inspiration in WNBA star Paige Bueckers and NBA standout Anthony Edwards (#5).
Her word to live by? Encouraging. On the court, she's "go, go, go," but she always finds balance by keeping up with school and staying grounded.
Mom Charisse shared, "She's learned that growth comes from trying, watching, and challenging herself often playing against the boys. Inspired by Kobe Bryant's mindset, Daja believes practice doesn't make perfect, it makes improvement. Even when discouraged, she stays determined."

Keep it up, Daja! Your dedication and energy are inspiring on and off the court! We're grateful you chose to be part of our Shorian family through School of Choice.
