For the first time, Lake Shore offered a Girls Unified Hockey team. Junior
Natalie Kelly is one of 3 Shorians on the team and shared how much she enjoyed seeing their growth. She played for the 10u Saints with all boys and at LCA until she was 15 years old so when the opportunity to play with a high school team arose, she took advantage of it. She's excited to continue to play hockey again with the team next year!
More skating stories? Awesome!
Congratulations to Lake Shore Shorian Sophomore Meghan Creson who brought home another Gold medal in her division! We are so proud of her and the entire South Macomb United team who participated in the District 5 Michigan High School Figure Skating Competition at Dearborn Ice Skating Center.
To earn her top spot, many people would think that Meghan has been skating for a very long time, but this is just an assumption. The truth is that Meghan began practicing just two years ago. She has proven that anyone can start and develop a new skill at any time.
Mom Kristin Creson explained, "What I love about Meghan is her tenacity. She practices for 10 hours per week and always roots for the underdog. She's truly a friend to all."
Kristin also shared how Meghan is a good jumper and fantastic at technique. Coach Molly is a big reason why she has developed confidence in those areas. Meghan said, "I love her so much! She's so positive when we are hard on ourselves. She believes in us."
Meghan opened up about dealing with anxiety, but skating has allowed her not only to manage, but alleviate it. She has established a skating routine and stays connected with her skating family. She encourages others to find a passion because this has been effective in managing her own anxiety.
