Late Starts, Big Strikes: Teagan & Carter Roll Their Way Into Lake Shore Bowling Success

Teagan, a senior, didn't start bowling until sophomore year — but she's on a roll! After missing much of that first season for driver's training, she joined varsity her junior year, raising her average from 103 to 147, and ending the year consistently bowling 150–170.

At the Rose Bowl tournament in Roseville, she bowled her highest game ever — 208! and earned the Most Over Average award with a series score of 401.

From her shiny white spare ball gifted by Coach Greg to early morning practices and family support from mom, dad, and brother Ian (who also bowls for Lake Shore), Teagan says it best:
"It's not just about winning — it's about having a good time."

When she's not bowling, she's playing baritone sax in the marching, concert, and jazz bands, working at Viviano's Greenhouse, and dreaming of studying Fishery & Wildlife Management in Northern Michigan. ????

Carter, a junior, first picked up a ball at a birthday party — and he's been hooked ever since. After joining a league at Lakeshore Lanes in 2019, he's worked his way up through the Kennedy Middle School club and JV team.

Now averaging 187 and proud owner of a few custom balls (his favorite — the Black Widow/Hammer), Carter says his biggest motivator is himself:
"Self-motivation is key."

He still bowls at his favorite alley — Lakeshore Lanes — and continues to inspire his teammates with his focus and love for the game.

Fun Fact: ?? Welcome to Mr. Roehm & Mr. Maleszyk's PE class at Lakeshore Lanes! Every Tuesday, 120 students bowl in teams of 4–5, paying just $3 for games and shoes. From relaxed play to competitive matches, students choose their own pace and team goals.
"This is an awesome opportunity for kids to try a lifelong sport right in our community," said Mr. Roehm.
