Ever since she was a little girl, now Freshman Izzy Bennett's world revolved around the sound of a bat cracking against a softball and the dust kicked up from the field. Her earliest memories were filled with afternoons at the local park where she began in t-ball and later moved on to machine pitch. Her team called Lucky Charms was coached by Mike Fremont and it was a very special team indeed. With 7 straight championship wins and a place where Izzy met some of her best friends, this team would keep much of the same makeup in talent for the rest of her softball days.

As she entered high school, Izzy's love for the sport only deepened. Softball became more than just a game—it was a part of who she was. She plays travel softball with Turnin2 with Lake Shore 14u teammates Renee Fremont and Makayla Blumenschein. She plays the role of shortstop, one of the most important positions in softball because it's the center of the infield and typically handles a lot of action during a game. She covers a lot of ground, makes quick decisions, and has a strong and accurate arm. Her precise execution is the reason why she continues to hold this position as a newcomer on the Varsity Softball team.

Her brother LSHS Class of 2025 soon-to-be graduate Aiden is her rock—her biggest cheerleader and her toughest critic all rolled into one. But long after she hangs up her cleats, Izzy will still remembered the lessons Aiden had taught her: that passion, perseverance, and love could carry you through anything. Coach Mike is like a 2nd dad to her. She said, "He's been my coach since I started playing and has helped me grow as both a person and softball player." And her mom Mary and dad Bob are the most supportive parents, people who show her unconditional love everyday. The check ins from her circle make such a big difference.
