Charley “Hat Trick” McIntyre Scores 4 and Leads Her Team to Another Victory

Shorian Soccer wins 7-1 against Sterling Heights!

Meet the Olympian of Lake Shore High School Charley "Hat Trick" McIntyre.

She plays Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Cheer, Swim, and Football, but only three of these with Lake Shore.

Sports have always been a part of her family. Mom was the Captain of the Dance team and dad played Football in high school. Her siblings, both graduates of Lake Shore High School, participated in Cheer and played Soccer and Basketball. They loved being active and so does Charley.

But how does she do it all?

She shared, "I find the time. My parents support me by driving me around. I do my homework during the school day. I stay up late for tests. And I drink a lot of coffee and energy drinks." She also finds having good friends is important, too. Sophomore Hailey Pollard from Lakeview is a travel soccer companion and a best bud who participates in college camps and trainings to help her reach her goal of going to a D1 school to play Soccer and get a degree in Sports Medicine.

As part of a dominating Varsity Girls' Soccer team, she knows how to win and put in the work to get there. A word she lives by is determination. She said, "I put the work in to prove to myself that I can do it." Coach Gwozdz has been a mentor for Charley and has seen, first-hand, the fruits of her labor.

Coach Gwozdz complimented, "She's a special athlete and has made an immediate impact on the [soccer] team. She's super strong, has a motor that never stops, and outwills and outworks everyone."

Charley has scored 21 goals this year, four today, and is chasing Ashley Romanowski's school record of 34. This team has a great chance for a League Championship.

But right now they will continue to focus on one win at a time and this win today against Sterling Heights feels good. Afterall, Charley is only a freshman and there's still so many memories to be made.
